Devereux Architects were commissioned to produce the Concept Design for this international standard hospital.
The Hospital provides full maternity services, level 2 and level 3 neonatal intensive care services and low risk gynaecology. There is also an emergency facility primarily for children, with inpatient beds to support this. The inpatient facilities are supported by two intensive care beds arranged flexibly as part of the theatre recovery area.
The hospital contains two fully equipped theatres, 41 antenatal rooms, 30 post-natal rooms, 6 suites and 2 royal suites. It also contains full antenatal outpatient facilities, an NICU department and a fitness suite. Support departments include catering, pathology
labs and TSSU facilities.
Devereux Architects developed the concept and scheme design to planning stage in close consultation with the proposed operator (the Cromwell Hospital, London) and local developer client. These briefings incorporated local, cultural and operational requirements.
The scheme was developed based on international standards (mainly UK) and was designed to reflect the environment of a 6* hotel, to deliver world class ante and post natal services.
