Alex joined Devereux Architects in 2010 and is responsible for developing the practice project portfolio in the UK as well as internationally, helping to formulate and implement strategies to drive the business forward in line with the company’s aims and objectives and be an integral part of the growing international practice.
Prior to joining Devereux Architects, Alex gained particular experience of leading design teams in the successful delivery of large complex retail led mixed-use developments for a number of leading developer and contractor clients. As well as managing the delivery of production information, both pre and post contract, he played an active role in developing and managing design and procurement programmes as well as implementing the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) on a significant commercial project in the UK. Alex led the design team responsible for delivering the £80m Princesshay project in Exeter. This exemplar mixed-use regeneration scheme provided high quality retail and residential space in the heart of Exeter's conservation area. He has also worked on a variety of projects in the Middle East including the delivery of architectural services for three defence projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and overseeing the detailed concept design of a luxury Hotel and Resort scheme in Syria.
